#Phuket Fantasea

Phuket Fantasea Show is inspired by Thailand’s rich and exotic heritage,
and not only showcases the charm and beauty of Thailand, but also enriches ancient Thai traditions
with the wonder of cutting-edge technology and special effects.

The result is a stunning 140-acre theme complex, packed with a multitude of activities
and entertainment: a Carnival village with games, handicrafts and shopping;
a 4,000-seat theme restaurant offering a grand buffet of Thai and international cuisines;
and a breathtaking Las Vegas-style theatrical show, where state-of-the-art technology
and special effects enhance the grace and beauty of Thailand’s myths, mysteries
and magic in a wondrous extravaganza certain to delight the whole family.

Phuket Fantasea - 3

The magnificent Palace of the Elephants is a state-of-the-art theatre with wonderful acoustics
and seating for 3,000 persons. Fronted by a glorious reconstruction of a Sukhothai-era stone palace,
with intriguing elephant statues, the theatre puts on a spell-binding show combining culture
and illusion that is almost beyond belief.

The ultimate in Las Vegas-style theatrical productions. Created by international experts
and local professionals, this audio-visual extravaganza incorporates,
for the first time, nine stunning show themes — Thai culture, magical illusions,
four-dimensional effects, aerial performances, acrobatics, indoor pyrotechnics,
special effects, elephant circus and stunts all rolled into one unforgettable theatrical masterpiece
guaranteed to thrill and delight visitors of all ages and nationalities.

A stroll through the enchanted Carnival Village is like a journey through Thailand’s architectural history.
Each fascinating facade promises a unique shopping experience, where visitors can buy high quality
locally made products from 15 different shops offering silk, leather, handicrafts, ceramics, jewelry,
souvenirs, unusual items about elephants and Siamese twins, and much more!
Pay a visit also to the Hanuman’s Lair – full of games, plays and exciting surprises for the kids.
Here the trickster king of the monkeys promises fun and excitement for everyone.

Located at Phuket FantaSea, Suriyamas Restaurant specialises in seafood as well as preparing
glamorously prepared international and Thai delicacies. The theme is that of a Thai palace and the
restaurant is accordingly fitted out with elaborate decorations, golden statues of mythical angels and
regal décor. Suriyamas caters for large or intimate gatherings and is situated
next to the giant Golden Kinnaree Restaurant in the theme park.

Black Pearl & Mama Restaurants, #Phuket

Black Pearl & Mama are two restaurants in one: set in a long open-sided one storey building,
the only difference between the two of them is
their theme colour – black for the former and white for the latter.

Enjoying a prime location on the shore of Karon Lake (a.k.a. Nong Harn Lake)
near the northern end of Karon Beach (on the road to Patong Beach),
this tourist-oriented contemporary style venue serves international
and Thai favourites at reasonable prices.

The view to the Northeast over the lake and the mountains in the background is superb.
At dusk, when things cool down a bit, it is a great place
indeed to enjoy a cocktail in good company before dinner.

Opened in December 2013 under Sugar Marina Group Management
(which also run Sugar Marina Resort – Art in Karon and Sugar Marina Resort – Fashion in Kata),
these restaurants are stylish yet unpretentious.

Black Pearl and Mama Restaurants (plus Moken Bar, which is planned to open for end 2014)
are set in a corridor-like building that covers a 1,600sqm area (80x20m) on the side of Karon Lake.

Featuring buffed-concrete flooring and a pergola style roof,
the main dining area can host up to 145 guests in total. Most of the wooden tables and chairs
(with black or white table cloth according to the restaurant they belong to)
offer a great view to the lake.

Both restaurants also have slightly more private dining rooms/areas at their backside,
including a comfortable and nicely decorated air-conditioned dining room – named
Mama Collection – on the Mama Restaurant’s side; quirkily enough,
a genuine red English telephone booth is installed in front of Mama Collection.

Black Pearl & Mama Restaurants are the right place to spend a relaxing end of afternoon
and enjoy a decent and affordable dinner in Karon Beach.
Please note that Black Pearl and Mama also have branches in Kata’s Soi Sugar Palm.

Kata Noi Beach, #Phuket, Thailand

Kata Noi Beach is a beautiful little bay if you want to be near Kata Beach action
but stay away from the usual tourist herds.
This nice wide strand of white sand has incredibly clear blue waters during the high season
and fortunately, its ‘out of the way’ location kept it relatively quiet.
Unless you know about it, you probably would miss it.

Except the beach itself and two resorts, not much is going on around Kata Noi Beach,
the usual tailor, convenience store, massage and few bars seem to be waiting for the hotel’s guests.
The northern end of the beach is also a popular spot among surfers
who occasionally get some decent waves for learning and practicing.
When low season arrives, the bay gets rougher and surfing is more challenging.

If you stay at Kata Thani Resort or at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale, you will get free beach chairs,
otherwise it will cost you 200 baht for a pair of loungers and an umbrella,
which is the normal price around the island.

The whole Kata Noi Beach front is occupied by the Kata Thani Beach Resort
and all rooms happen to face the beach… very popular and first rooms are affordable.
If you want to treat yourself to something luxurious
you can try ‘The Shore’, their beautiful new wing, all featuring pool villas.

More unique and renown since decades is the ‘Villa Royale’,
built on the side of Kata Noi northern end.
This unusual hotel, surrounded by a beautiful garden,
used to be a private house converted very successfully into a hotel. In the original wing,
each room has a different design and different decoration,
one of them even still features its own wine cellar built into a rock boulder.

Another spot no to miss while in Kata Noi Beach, is the line of bars built high on top of the back hill,
offering spectacular views on the bay… With name like ‘Small View Point’ or ‘After Beach’
or the newest addition ‘Baan Chom View’ you get the idea :
great sunset, decent food and definitely the best way

to enjoy a beer watching the sun go down on Kata Noi Beach.
